Today on the occasion of Sir’s 75th birth day am called as guest to garland sir’s statue. Every heart there is moistened remembering the love and affection shown by sir to poor, daliths, and marginalized, it was a gathering of not more than hundred in a remote old town in Andhra pradesh. But the steely resolve displayed by it, most of the youngsters reminded me of ever relevance of sir. I was very much inspired by every participant. For realization of Constitutional ideals of liberty, equality, and brother hood, among people, who worship animals and snakes, but hesitant to recognize fellow citizen as “human being”, thinking and ideals of Sankaran and his life as a curricula right from child hood to all the highest institutions of learning and training centers such all National and State Judicial Academies and IAS & IPS training academies will certainly have effective impact .

I camet o know about Sir when he died. DrHaragopal always talks nice of him.
I feel proud to be a part of initiating Memorial Lecture series and organizing first memorial lecture in Hyderabad by CDS. Sri. K R Venugopal, Sri. K Madhavarao, Sri Mallepalli Laxmaiah, Dr. YB Satyanarayana and Mr. Anjaneyulu always used to say some great things about Sankaran Ji. Now I am sharing those things with my friends.
I met Sankaran sir thrice at his Panjagutta residence. I have not seen such a nice human being. I came to know about him by my father and grand father. He has worked as an IAS officer for our District(Nellore).
I know about him when i was studying. But I met him in 1999 for the first time at his residence. He was an amazing human being. His thought was always going around the poor only. He was a great, sincere, honest and humble human being.
I haven’t known him personally, but I have heard a lot about his selfless service in IAS. For me as an IAS aspirant, he is an ideal IAS officer.
I heard about SIR when he passes away , huge loss to our human rights who fights till the end in his life, his biography
should include in academics to inspire society ..
I have known Sri S.R. Sankaran from the time I joined A.P. IAS cadre. I always found him concerned about the junior IAS Officers’ commitment for the weaker sections. Sri Sankaran has been a symbol of sacrifice. He never married. He has been giving away most part of his salary to the poor and needy.
His residence was a choultry for the poor and down trodden. We in the IAS have been and will always give example of Sri S.R. Sankaran as one of the best amongst us. He not only lived but also sacrificed his life for the poor and down trodden.
I have returned from my district and I was talking to a person with little formal education and he was asking me If I ever wanted to enter civil service I should ask myself whether I can be a good officer. I asked him about what a good officer would look like ? He said that once up on a time there was a District Collector named Sankaran and he gave poor men land pattas and delivered justice without any delay. Sankaran pattas is what they are even now known as in the district. Sankaran served as Collector in 1970s and It is amazing that this man still remembers him.
Sankaran is above all a great human being and an icon for all men in Public service. I pray to god that he sends more people like him to this world to make it livable for poor and weak.
Great human being and Moderan Gandhi of India. When Prof. Hara Gopal taken a class on Dr SR Shankaran, I was profoundly impacted by his life and the honesty he showed on human beings, especially, the tribes. May his soul rest in peace…
